Digital Business After 40

Free resource · Quote pages

You have four decades of things to say. Here is how to get the first 30 out.

You read the quote page plan, you agreed with it, and then you sat looking at a blank screen. You are not short on things to say. You are short on a starting prompt, and permission to cut the lines that sound like a greeting card. This page gives you both.

About 10 minutes. Nothing to download. No email needed. Works in any AI tool.

Pick your feeling
  1. 1 Pick a feeling
  2. 2 Copy your prompt
  3. 3 Keep or cut
  4. 4 Fill five posts

Step 1

Pick one feeling

Not a topic. A feeling the right person recognizes herself in. Pick the one you have lived, and could write a hundred lines about. If none of these is quite yours, pick the closest and change the words in the prompt. The longer version, with three tests, is in how to choose the feeling for your quote page.

Step 2

Copy your prompt

This is built on the four-part prompt: role, task, context and format. If you want to know why each part is there, read how to write an AI prompt that doesn't give you mush. Paste it into ChatGPT, Claude or whichever AI tool you use.

If the lines come back close but not right, do not start over. Reply with one line: "Shorter and plainer. Fewer big words. Write it like you are talking to one woman at a kitchen table." That fixes most of it.

Step 3

Keep or cut

Most of the 30 will not make it. That is the point. Paste one line at a time, answer five questions honestly, and keep the ones that pass. Aim for 10. The method behind the questions is in how to write original quotes.

Would I say this out loud, to a friend, in my own voice?

Is it about one thing? One moment, one picture, one truth.

Does it sound like me, not like anyone could have written it?

Does it sound like truth, not like advice?

Would I put my name on it?

Your keepers 0/10

Lines that pass all five questions land here.

Before you post any keeper, put the exact line in quotation marks and search for it. If it comes back attached to someone else, change it or let it go.

    Step 4

    Fill your first five posts

Pick your five best keepers and put them here, one per post. Tap "Use" on a keeper to drop it in the next empty slot, or type straight into a slot. You leave with a week, not a document. When you are ready to write the captions, here is how to write hooks and captions for quote posts.

Your keepers and posts are saved in this browser only, so you can come back to them. Nothing is sent anywhere.

You have five posts. The next five are easier with other people watching.

There is a free Quote module inside the Digital Business After 40 community, and a room full of people building after 40 who will tell you which of your lines made them stop. Bring your five. Post your favorite one in there first.

I started building my online business at 57. The first time I asked AI for anything, I typed one vague line, got generic mush back, and closed the laptop. What changed was not a better tool. It was telling it who I was writing for and what I had lived. That is what this prompt does. Your age is not the thing in the way here. It is the material. Nobody younger has your moments, and the right woman is waiting to read them.
